LEARN:

To pan effectively, you need to follow the subject (at the same rate of speed of the subject) with your camera for the length of time the shutter is open. A fairly slow shutter speed such as 1/50 does not open the sensor for too long but can produce much better motorcycle images that convey a sense of movement.
