Speaking To Google

In order to benefit from SEO, you must both speak and listen to Google. Here, we'll talk about speaking to Google. You've done great keyword research and have killer title and descriptions. This is a great start, but now you need to speak to Google and let them know what the page is about, so they know when to display your title and description to a potential searcher (client).

This is where speaking to Google comes into play. You need to communicate the keywords with H1 or H2 tags throughout the page. Based on the page, you should also have subheadings that communicate that same keyword or similar words to it. As you talk about the keywords throughout the page, you'll want to sometimes emphasize them by using bold or italics. These are ways to speak to Google and let them know what your page is about and what searches the page is relevant for.

Step 1: Use Header Tags

Communicate key search terms to Google with H1 and H2 tags. Add subheadings with similar keywords or variations of the keyword.

Step 2: Emphasize Important Parts of Your Page

Use <strong> tags, <i> tags, ALL CAPS, and tags to communicate to Google important parts of the page relevant to searchers.
